OSTREA EDULIS, COMMONLY KNOWN AS OYSTERS OR OISRE IN IRISH.
Commonly known as the Native or European Flat Oyster they are considered a luxurious delicacy worldwide due to their scarcity. Known for having a sharp and nutty flavour, they can be eaten raw and even straight from the sea. They are in season from September to April and when there is an 'R' in the month.
